Senior Vice President
Scott was appointed Senior Vice President in 2011. Prior to this Scott held the position of Vice President, Commercial Lending and has over 15 years of service with the bank. During his career, Scott has held several positions including, Assistant Vice President Commercial Lending, Commercial Loan Officer, and Teller. His daily responsibilities include business development, loan origination and customer relationship management within the commercial lending department. Scott is also active within the community serving as a Board Member of Newburyport Education Business Coalition (NEBC), Newburyport Literary Association, Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Salvation Army Advisory Board and is a member of the Rotary Club of Newburyport. Scott received his B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and is a graduate of the Massachusetts State Banking School and ACB National School of Banking.
Portsmouth - State Street Office
John Burcke joined the bank in October of 2015 as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer in Portsmouth, NH. Prior to joining the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, John was Senior Vice President, Senior Commercial Lender for Optima Bank and Trust in Portsmouth. John has also held management positions with Kennebunk Savings Bank, Citizens Bank, and Santander Bank. John attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. John is a former member of the Seacoast Rotary Club and also formerly served as a member of the Advancement Committee at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. He currently serves on the Advancement Committee for Exeter Hospital. John resides in Dover, NH with his wife and 2 children.
Scott was appointed Vice President in 2015 and has over 28 years in banking. Prior to becoming VP, Scott served Assistant Vice President since joining Newburyport Bank in 2005. His career before Newburyport Bank includes serving as a Vice President at the First & Ocean Bank, and Banknorth, N.A. Currently, Scott's responsibilities include business development, loan origination and customer relationship management within the commercial lending department. He is a member of the Amesbury Rotary Club, serves on the board of the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, a is a frequent volunteer at Our Neighbors' Table. Scott received his B.S. in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College and is a graduate of the IBAA Graduate School of Banking. Scott resides in South Hampton, New Hampshire, with his wife and daughter.
