Job Description:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of the branch from customer service to facility management to staff supervision including managing and motivating staff to ensure consistency of superior quality customer service while adhering to bank policies, procedures and security. Delegates and directs work flow to provide optimum service. Professionally interacts with new and existing customers with respect to establishing or maintaining all types of bank services, accounts and loans. Works closely with staff to identify methods to expand upon new and existing client relationships.


Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the Bank's ongoing mission, vision and core values.
  • Demonstrates enhanced product and sales knowledge for all Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act;Privacy, Fair Lending , Regulation E; deposits transactions; consumer loan accounts; cash management; and electronic services.
  • Directs a relational oriented market and drives a customer sales culture focused on asset quality and service excellence.
  • Manages and directs implementation of market plans to achieve specified loan generation, deposit and product utilization growth, referrals to other line of business, relationship development and retention goals.
  • Managers business development processes including: prospect identification;target/goal setting; individual and joint call preparation; coaching and managing results.
  • Communicates weekly goals, evaluates progress, establishes weekly calling plans and coaches for targeted relationship development.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance e with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include; training employees;planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; recognition of employees; holding employees accountable for deliveries while providing appropriate levels of intervention,; addressing concerns and problem resolution.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors and or non -supervisory employees in the Bank. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Conducts regular business development meetings, quarterly coaching and individual touch bases withe direct reports coordinates competitions and campaigns to meet sales goals and objectives. 
  • Responsible and accountable for actively engaging and participating in the Bank's ongoing coaching process through participation in and preparation for established routines including but not limited to: formal quarterly coaching sessions, individual touch bases, monthly team meetings etc. 
  • Serves as manager, fulfilling role of Relationship Banker Supervisor and /or Relationship Banker as required.
