We are hiring a Portfolio Manager (PM) to handle all aspects of commercial portfolio management as it relates to assigned portfolio loans together with attracting, developing and cross-selling of other deposit and commercial banking relationships. The PM works with the Lender and Commercial Loan Administrator (CLA) to maintain high-quality credit administration and risk management.

Summary: The role of the  Portfolio Manager (PM)  is  to handle all aspects of commercial portfolio management as it relates to assigned portfolio loans together with attracting, developing and cross-selling of other deposit and commercial banking relationships in the greater Seacoast New Hampshire marketplace. The PM works with the Lender and Commercial Loan Administrator (CLA) to maintain high-quality credit administration and risk management. 

Portfolio Management/Loan Structuring:

  • Assist Lender(s) in managing the approval process ensuring all required information has been received for proper underwriting.
  • For lines of credit or maturing loans, ensure renewals are approved/booked or extended prior to expiration/maturity.
  • Ensure loan terms are compliant with credit policy and banking regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency with loan documents.
  • Analyze and track financial covenants outlined in legal documents.
  • Identify covenant violations and  manage waive process when initiated by the Lender
  • Monitor construction projects and track  borrowings versus remaining availability confirming the project remains compliant with the Bank’s requirements.
  • Monitor portfolio to identify inconsistent grading and initiate grade changes when required.
  • Draft Watched Asset Reports when downgrading loans below a 6 rating and adhere to quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Draft commentary on changes in  performance or issue requiring further explanation, and during periodic financial and covenant review.
  • Assist in facilitating internal and  external examinations. 
  • Prepare internal and external  documents including term sheets, Sage Works applications, appraisal bid requests, call memos, commitment letters, post-closing memos and loan modifications.
  • Assist a Lender or Lenders in all  aspects of managing their existing portfolio as well as assisting with ongoing sales and approval efforts.    

Customer Support:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients by assisting in the sales proposal process.      
  • Assist  in customer correspondence including drafting proposal/commitment letters, Request for Information (RFI), covenant waivers, and renewal notifications.
  • Assist CLA with customer service issues or problem resolution.
  • Assist CLA with overdraft decisions and follow up, as needed.   

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration
  • Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Credit/Banking and/or related experience
  • Ability to assess financial performance and risk including identifying ways to mitigate risk to the Bank
  • Knowledge of commercial loan and deposit/treasury products·
  • Excellent verbal and Written communication skills
