Our Residential Lending Department is growing and is currently recruiting for the position of;  

CONSUMER LOAN SPECIALIST  

The Loan Specialist will originate, process and close consumer loans including secured and unsecured loans and lines of credit with a focus on growing the consumer loan portfolio and developing customer relationships. Provides consistently high quality level of customer service to borrowers throughout the consumer loan application process by indetifying borrower financial needs, cross selling consumer loan products and services, documenting and responding to customer inquires.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned as dictated by business need:  

1. Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the Bank’s ongoing mission, vision and core values.   

2. Originates, processes and closes consumer loan applications received through website, by branch, in person, by phone or email in a timely manner. This may include meeting customers at offsite locations such as convenient branch or business location.   

3. Assists in reaching consumer loan origination and volume expectations on a consistent basis.   

4. Works closely with the consumer lending manager to ensure loan conditions are being met timely and accurately and ensure service level of overall pipeline management.   

5. Communicates and explains to customers qualifying loan products and services, pricing policies, pertinent disclosures, and schedules closings with customers and/or retail banking staff.   

6. Maintains strong working knowledge of loan origination system – MeridianLink LoansPQ.   

7. Aid in training branch personnel in consumer lending products and services.   

8. Stays current with regulatory changes and implements necessary changes to loan origination system as they relate to processing workflow.   

9. Assists in creating and maintaining consumer lending policies and procedures.   

Qualifications: Minimum of associate’s degree with a concentration in business and minimum of 2+ years of prior consumer loan generating experience or applicable combination of both. Strong working knowledge of banking/financial services industries, residential lending trends and regulations. Ability to read financial data including tax returns, personal financial statements, credit reports, provide informed guidance to prospective borrower based on the information gleaned from them. Prior experience with and understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and internet based application processes helpful. Professional demeanor and professional maturity required for working closely with customers, employees, vendors and members of the Board of Directors preferred.
