The FDICs Money Smart™ for Young People program helps students enhance their financial skills. This standards-aligned curriculum series empowers educators with engaging activities to integrate financial education instruction into subjects such as Math, English, and Social Studies.
For every grade level
Each age-appropriate curriculum includes easy-to-use lesson plans for educators and guides for parents and caregivers. The concepts of earning, saving, spending, investing, borrowing, and protecting are presented as lessons for each age group. These lessons can be used at home or school.

Concepts are taught with grade-level modified lessons as follows:
- Grades Pre-K - 2: Understanding currency
- Grades 3 - 5: Exploring careers and income
- Grades 6 - 8: Career and job opportunities
- Grades 9 - 12: Career options and managing a paycheck

Concepts are taught with grade-level modified lessons as follows:
- Grades Pre-K - 2: Settings goals, saving and spending
- Grades 3 - 5: Setting goals, saving and spending, intro to investing
- Grades 6 - 8: Financial goals, cash flow and budgeting, personal financial choices
- Grades 9 - 12: Financial planning, the importance of saving, college and student loans
