Where do I start?

Before applying for a DOER MLP Z-Loan with Newburyport Bank, you’ll need to complete an Energy Assessment or another qualifying visit with a vendor approved by your Municipal Light Plant.

Your approved vendor will provide a dated Z-Loan Authorization Form containing your unique Z-Loan ID, the authorized improvements and the amount eligible for financing.

Once you have your Z-Loan Authorization Form, you’re ready to apply for financing with Newburyport Bank.

How Does the Z-Loan Process Work?

1. Complete an Assessment or Qualifying Visit

Work with a vendor approved by your Municipal Light Plant to complete an Energy Assessment or another qualifying visit and identify eligible energy-efficiency improvements.

2. Receive Your Z-Loan Authorization Form

Your approved vendor will provide a dated Loan Authorization Form containing your unique Z-Loan ID, authorized work and eligible financing amount.

3. Apply with Newburyport Bank

Once you have your Z-Loan Authorization Form, apply for financing with Newburyport Bank. You’ll need to provide your completed loan application and dated Z-Loan Authorization Form.

4. Finance Your Project

If approved, your loan can finance the authorized work identified on your Z-Loan Authorization Form, subject to program limits.

The current DOER interest subsidy is 100% of the gross loan interest rate, resulting in a 0% customer interest rate. The interest subsidy is subject to change.
