Rewards Checking Account requirements:

Account requirements to earn 2.00% APY1 and up to $20 foreign ATMsurcharge fees reimbursed. If criteria is not met, account will earn 0.01% interest.

1The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is 2.00% as of 5/1/22. Balances up to and including $15,000.00 will earn an APY of 2.00%, balances in excess of $15,000.00 will earn an APY of 2.00% to 0.01%. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements during the statement cycle, the rate paid on your account on the entire balance will be 0.01% with an APY of 0.01%. Minimum balance to open the account is $10. To be eligible for the interest rates and APYs, and receive up to $20 reimbursement for foreign ATM fees, you must meet the following requirements during the statement cycle: enrollment in online banking and eStatements, a direct deposit of at least $100, 12 debit card purchases processed and posted as a credit card with a minimum of $10 per transaction. Rate is subject to change. Fees may reduce earnings.

What you'll need

  • Valid photo ID
  • If using a passport or valid photo ID and it has your incorrect physical address, you need to provide one of the following for proof of address: bill, car insurance, bank statement, rental agreement, or new mortgage statement.

How to switch banks

  • Make sure you have the account number for your new Newburyport Bank account AND your account number for your old account available.
  • Also, have information for any organization that makes automated deposits to or debits from your old account.
