The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to Gather located in Portsmouth, NH. Founded in 1816, Gather is one of the oldest social service agencies in the United States, dedicated to ending hunger in the Greater Seacoast region. Funds provided by the Charitable Foundation will help Gather in expanding its Pantry Market, Mobile Markets, Meals 4 Kids, Cooking for Community and more, providing greater access to nutritious, fresh food.
“Gather is consistently working toward, in their words, a hunger-free community,” said Jim McCarthy, President and COO of Newburyport Bank. “In today’s environment, with rising food prices and growing economic pressure, far too many individuals and families are struggling to put nutritious meals on the table. Gather meets this challenge head-on, providing critical food resources with compassion, dignity, and unwavering dedication.”
Newburyport Bank views it as both a responsibility and a privilege to support organizations like Gather that are making a meaningful difference where it matters most. The Bank’s commitment to helping goes beyond financial contributions, they are about actively investing in the well-being of the communities we serve. By supporting Gather’s mission through its Charitable Foundation, Newburyport Bank is helping to ensure that no one in our region must face hunger alone, and it is proud to play a part in building a stronger, more equitable future for all.
