Newburyport Bank Welcomes Shane Brewer as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer

Jim McCarthy, President and Chief Operating Officer of Newburyport Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Brewer as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, bringing more than 11 years of industry experience and a strong commitment to relationship-based banking to the organization.

In his role, Shane partners with commercial banking customers to understand their goals and help support their businesses as they grow. He takes the time to get to know each borrower, reviewing their financial picture and working with them to build loan solutions that fit their needs. Shane will also stay connected with customers throughout the life of their loans, keeping an eye on their financial health and offering guidance or support whenever needed.

Shane joins Newburyport Bank as a voting member of the Officer Credit Committee and will present loan requests and recommendations as part of the Bank’s collaborative credit decision process. In addition to managing existing relationships, he will focus on developing new business opportunities and strengthening the Bank’s presence throughout the region.

Brewer is based out of the Bank’s Dover, NH office.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. His past volunteer involvement includes the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire and serving as Treasurer for the Portsmouth Chamber Collaborative. He is currently exploring new board opportunities to continue evolving his civic engagement.

A resident of York, Maine, Brewer enjoys spending his free time outdoors. He is an avid golfer and fly fisher who loves exploring nature and observing wildlife. He and his wife, Megan Brewer, RN, have two children—Maverick and Josephine “Joey” - as well as a 12-year-old dog, Kaya, and a newly adopted kitten, Cooper “Flagg” Brewer.
