Newburyport Bank has donated $2,500 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The donation will support research and patient services. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary nonprofit health organization focused on funding critical blood cancer research, education, and patient support. Since 1949, they have invested nearly $1.8 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches.
Newburyport Bank is honored to stand alongside LLS in the fight against blood cancer. This commitment reflects the deep belief in the power of scientific innovation and compassionate care to change lives. By investing in organizations like LLS, Newburyport Bank is helping accelerate breakthroughs in treatment, improving patient outcomes, and providing vital resources to those and their families facing these challenging diagnoses.
“A cancer diagnosis is always a scary one, and I’m sure we’ve all been touched by it through a family member or friend,” said Jim McCarthy, President and COO of the Bank. “But progress through research is being made. Survivability rates for blood cancers are increasing significantly, and with continued research they will further improve. Research requires funding and we’re proud to play a part in that.”
